It's Been a While!

Yes, it has been a while.  But here I am with a gajillion new cards to post!  Okay, not really a gajillion.  But it felt like it!

Let's see.  I did a craft show at the beginning of August.  I did so much prep in the week before the show that I was totally burned out and didn't want to make anything again ever.  At least not for a while.  So for a while, I didn't.  What's that?  You're wondering about the 100 in 100?  Well, although I didn't continue to document the cards and other things that I made, I decided that everything I made for that craft show counted.  And I made a LOT.  I (unfortunately) have a ton left over so eventually I will get around to posting pictures of the projects I made.  The cards that I made for the show will be in this post, though!

Lucky for me, it seems like I have that card-making oomph back!  It helps that I had a workshop this weekend and we made four cards in that workshop.  The prep and the workshop helped me remember that this is fun!  Not to mention that I got a TON of new stuff to play with this past week.  Eighteen new stamp sets!  And six more that I bought from the Buy/Sell/Trade on Splitcoast!

Well, let's get on with it, shall we? :)

Ink: Early Espresso
Other: White Gel Pen, Early Espresso 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals

Two very simple "all occasion" type cards.  They are blank on the inside.  I imagined that these could be used for boys' and girls' birthday cards, or something like that.

SUPPLIES:
Stamps: Every Little Bit
Cardstock: Marina Mist, Primrose Petals, So Saffron
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals

I'll bet this card and the next one look familiar too!  Again, I love this layout.  As if you couldn't tell!

Cardstock: Midnight Muse, Primrose Petals, So Saffron, Naturals White
Ink: Basic Black
Other: 3/16" Corner Punch, Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch, White Gel Pen, Stampin' Dimensionals

I made this card and the birthday card above in both of these color schemes, just to change things up a bit.  My husband doesn't like the pie.  He can't figure out what a pie has to do with a thank you card.  I tried telling him that the pie is irrelevant but he doesn't understand.  Men...

Cardstock: Island Indigo, Pool Party, So Saffron, Naturals White
Ink: Basic Black

Checking in

Hello all! Just a quick note to say that I've been a busy little bee crafting away for the sidewalk sales this weekend! I've made a bunch of stuff in the past week. Hopefully I will get some pictures up next week when it's not so crazy. I've got a temporary set-up in my living room so I can craft and watch the Olympics at the same time. It's really upped my productivity! I guess I need a tv in my craft room ;)

Goodness Gracious! 19-29

Well hello!  Long time, no see.  It's been a crazy couple of weeks around here but I did get SOME stamping done!  I'm going to be doing a craft fair in a couple of weeks so that will really up my count, I'm sure.  I'm trying to figure out just what it is that I want to do.  It's my first craft fair so I don't want to make too much that might not sell, but I don't want to make not enough of the projects either and then be stuck!  I've found some super-cute ideas online and am eager to get started.  I just got home after a weekend away so tomorrow I will start with some of the new stuff!

But for now, I'd better get into catching up with the cards I've already done!

The color combo is taken from ColourQ #143 - I substituted Calypso Coral for Poppy Parade.

SUPPLIES
Stamps: Up, Up, & Away, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Cardstock: Basic Gray, Whisper White, Calypso Coral, So Saffron, Pacific Point (Brights Collection DSP)
Ink: Basic Gray, Basic Black, Pacific Point Stampin' Write Marker
Other: Modern Label, Word Window, 3/16" Corner Punches, Dimensionals

I also did another One Sheet Wonder, and guess what?  I don't hate these cards!  In fact, I'd like to make more similar to this and sell them as sets at the craft fair.  I'd probably only make a few and change up the template, but I think this would be a cute gift.

(The sentiment on this one is embossed in white.)

I got the template and card sketches originally from the Stampin' Up! Demonstrator website (if you type one sheet wonder into the search box on the Demo site you should be able to find it).  The PDF was originally posted by Nancy Horn who credits Stephanie Carroll for the original idea.  Overall I like the way these cards turned out.  I think next time I might dress them up  just a little bit more with some pearls or rhinestones, maybe some faux stitching around the outside of some.

SUPPLIES
Stamps: Sincere Salutations, Best Yet
Cardstock: Basic Gray, Pool Party, Whisper White, So Saffron (Subtles Collection DSP)
Ink: Basic Gray, Versamark
Other: Basic Gray 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain, Basic Gray 5/8" Satin Ribbon, XL Oval Punch, Curly Label Punch, White Embossing Powder

And that's it!  Hopefully I'll be back with more soon but for now, happy crafting, everyone!

I'm back! 15-18 of 100

Hello again!  I'll skip the fluff and get straight to the stamping.

This is the card I made for my husband for our anniversary.  I clear embossed the colored tree by covering the stamp in VersaMark and then coloring with markers.  Very simple and easy-to-make card.

SUPPLIES
Stamps: Easy Events
Cardstock: Crumb Cake
Ink: Basic Black, VersaMark, Stampin' Write Markers (Garden Green, Real Red, Early Espresso)
Other: Clear Embossing Powder

This is a mini pizza box that I made as a prize for the workshop I had this past Saturday.  I'll get to that disaster later.  I filled the inside with Hershey's Bliss and a couple of Ghiradhelli squares.

SUPPLIES
Stamps: Yummy
Cardstock: Midnight Muse, Raspberry Ripple, Whisper White
Ink: Midnight Muse
Other: 3/16" Corner Punch, 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon (Daffodil Delight)

This is the first of two cards we were supposed to make on Saturday.  I based it on a card I posted already (Best Friend Forever) and modified it just a little bit.

SUPPLIES
Stamps: Fabulous Phrases
Cardstock: Marina Mist, Whisper White, Primrose Petals, Polka Dot Parade DSP (Daffodil Delight)
Ink: Primrose Petals
Other: Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, White Gel Pen

And this is the second card we were supposed to make on Saturday, again based on a card I already posted (the one with the umbrella).  I really like the way this one turned out, especially the way the faux stitching around the outside mimics the stitching on the ribbon.

SUPPLIES
Stamps: For the Birds
Cardstock: Basic Gray, So Saffron, Whisper White, Polka Dot Parade DSP (Marina Mist)
Ink: Basic Gray
Other: 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon (Basic Gray), White Gel Pen

So anyway, I was supposed to have a workshop on Saturday.  I was excited because I was supposed to have around six people there.  The only person that showed up was my upline, who lives an hour and a half away.  I was pretty disappointed but as they say, every cloud has a silver lining.  Now I can use these cards at my workshop later this month and I don't have to prep anything ;)

If my calculations are correct, I'm way behind.  I have an extra day off this week (today) because of the holiday so I'd better hop to it!  Thanks for stopping by :)

Hello again!

Just a quick update to confirm that I haven't completely disappeared. I have made a few cards in the last couple of weeks that I haven't taken pictures of just yet. Things got a little hectic around here and now my in-laws are up for the weekend so I've been pretty occupied. I a doing a workshop tomorrow so I'll be busy tonight getting everything ready for that. Nothing like waiting until the last minute, right?!

10-14 of 100

Now, don't be fooled by the fact that there will only be three cards pictured here.  Cards 11 and 12 were actually remakes of two of my Herb Expressions set that I did before 100 in 100 - my co-worker needed me to make four more each of Rosemary and Lavender, so I counted each as one.  It helped get me caught up, anyway ;)

Now, on to the fun!

This is a card I made based on another Mojo Monday sketch and ColourQ color combo, but I think I accidentally threw away the paper where I had written down which ones they were and to be honest, I'm feeling too lazy to go looking for them.

Here's what I don't like: the Old Olive DSP.  It just doesn't fit at all.  But, the important thing is to take what you don't like and learn from it.  Next time I make a card like this it won't be so weird!  Haha.

SUPPLIES
Stamps: For the Birds
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Not Quite Navy, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive (Brights DSP Patterns Stack)
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Whisper White Bakers Twine, Dimensionals

Now, if you'll all let me be boastful for a minute, I love this card.  A good friend of mine is getting married this weekend so I made this card for her and her soon-to-be-husband.  I embossed white on white for the dress (this is the Love & Laughter set minus the hanger and straps on the dress - I used the Versamarker to selectively not include that part).  The bow tie and lapels on the tuxedo are clear embossed on the black to give it a visual difference, which didn't photograph well.  The buttons on the tux are basic pearls colored black with a Sharpie.  I embossed the sentiment in white and clear embossed Real Red and punched the hearts.

SUPPLIES
Stamps: Love & Laughter
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Real Red
Ink: Versamark/Versamarker
Other: Small Heart Punch, Pearl Basic Jewels, Dimensionals

For this one I just had a hankering to do a rainbow card.  No real reason.  I like the idea of the pinwheel stamp but it just doesn't look right the way it's colored.  And I tried coloring it like, four different ways, and I just didn't end up with anything I liked though what I ended up with was the best (or I was sick of trying, haha).  I'm also showcasing some new stuff I got the other day!  Large Oval, Scalloped Oval, and Modern Label punches!  I'm not sure how well you can read the sentiment (I inked it with a marker and it stamped kind of light) but it reads "hip hip hooray".

SUPPLIES
Stamps: Happy You
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Real Red, Tangerine Tango, So Saffron, Gumball Green, Pacific Point, Island Indigo, Perfect Plum, Watercolor Paper
Ink: Stampin' Write Markers in Pacific Point, Real Red, Tangerine Tango, So Saffron, and Gumball Green
Other: Modern Label, Word Window, Large Oval, Scalloped Oval punches; white gel pen

And I leave you with this last little bit for the day -- my very own stamping cat, Minerva.  She loves being up in my room with me.  This is a picture of her curled up in my Stampin' Up! box.  I thought it was appropriate ;)

Mission: Organization

So I have decided that before I make ANY more cards I have got to clean and organize my room. I got all sorts of new stuff on Thursday and I haphazardly put it all away so I'm making good homes for new embellishments and my Big Shot. I also usually craft at night and don't like to clean up after so my table is a disaster and there are scraps everywhere. Ergo, I am cleaning AND possibly purging some stuff I don't use - there are two ladies that have papercrafting classes at the library every month and I think I'll donate some of my stuff to them to use for the classes. That'll clear out some space for whatever tickles my fancy in the future... :)
